Assistance during your holiday
If you require an assistant during your holiday, make sure to mention this in your application. Holiday fees of an assistant depend on whether they are an assistant granted by the municipality or a close relative of the applicant.
Close relative or friend: If the assistant lives in a different household, they must fill in their own application. If both applications are approved, both applicants must pay for their own contribution.
Employed personal assistant: Please include the assistant’s contact details in your application. Loma ja Terveys ry will cover the accommodation and meal costs of a personal assistant in an employment relationship, if agreed separately. A personal assistant in an employment relationship will not receive a separate holiday invitation.
If you are a caregiver applying for a holiday together with the person you care for, please complete a joint application if you live in the same household. If you live in separate households, both the caregiver and the cared-for person must submit their own applications with justifications
Both the holiday participant and the assistant are responsible for their own travel expenses. The assistant is responsible for providing assistance throughout the holiday.
Holiday destinations do not provide assistance during the holiday. Exceptions are peer holidays for adults with disabilities and holidays for caregivers and the persons they care for.
On peer holidays for adults with disabilities, assistance is available at the holiday destination, for example with mobility, meals, and bathing.
